PK Saenchai Gym Review

PK Saenchai was one of the first gyms where I had the idea to start Fightlore.

After training, I'd just sit around and talk with the fighters. Those conversations - hearing their real stories, their struggles, what they're actually going through - that's what sparked everything.

We've filmed a ton of content here over the years. Including Tawanchai's first video, right before his ONE Championship debut. This was before he became the superstar he is now.

GETTING THERE

The gym's in Bang Kho Laem, south of central Bangkok.

You'll need a Grab or Bolt - about 100-150 baht from places like Sukhumvit, depending on traffic.

The location's not super convenient, but honestly? That's good. It filters out the Instagram crowd. Everyone here came to actually train.

WHAT TRAINING LOOKS LIKE

Alright, here's the big thing: every session is one-on-one with a trainer.

No group classes. No waiting your turn. No sharing. Just you and a trainer.

Beginner sessions (45 min):

  • 5 rounds of pad work
  • Clinching and sparring basics
  • Strength & conditioning in the mornings

Advanced sessions (1-1.5 hrs):

  • 6-7 rounds of pads
  • Advanced techniques
  • Clinching and sparring
  • S&C in the mornings

The trainers won't baby you, but they're respectful.

Show up half-asleep and lazy? They'll match that energy.
Show up ready to work? They'll actually push you and teach you properly.

THE GOOD STUFF

One-on-one every time - No sharing trainers. No waiting for pad rounds. Just pure focused training.

Proper technique work - Your trainer will fix your form and make you do it right.

Beginner-friendly - They've got a solid beginner program. 45-minute sessions that won't kill you.

Real atmosphere - You're training alongside Thai fighters who actually fight. Not a tourist show.

No upselling BS - Pay for training. Train. Leave. That's it.

THE REAL STUFF (What Nobody Tells You)

It's hot as hell - Open-air gym. Bangkok humidity. No AC. Bring a lot of water.

Costs more than group gyms - One-on-one training isn't cheap. You're paying for personalized attention.

It's a hub for top fighters - Tawanchai and Prajanchai train here, so you'll get a lot of tourists coming through just to take pictures with the superstars.

English is hit or miss - Some trainers speak decent English. Some don't. You'll mostly communicate by demonstrating techniques. Which is fine.

Basic facilities - There's changing rooms and showers, but don't expect luxury. This is a working gym, not a spa.

WHO SHOULD TRAIN HERE?

Come here if:

  • You want one-on-one training every session
  • You're cool paying more for focused attention
  • You want to train alongside actual fighters
  • You care more about quality training than fancy stuff

Don't come here if:

  • You prefer group classes or training with other people
  • You're on a tight budget (group gyms are way cheaper)
  • You want AC and nice facilities

MY HONEST TAKE

I've filmed at over 50 gyms across Bangkok for Fightlore.

PK Saenchai stands out because of the one-on-one format.

Most Bangkok gyms run group classes. You wait your turn for pads. You share trainers with 5 other people.

Here? Every session is just you and a trainer. Full attention. Zero distractions.

Is it more expensive? Yeah. But you get what you pay for.

The location is tucked away. The facilities are basic.

But if you actually want personalized training and you're willing to pay for it, this gym delivers.

My rating:
9/10 if you want one-on-one training with the best atmosphere and training alongside the best fighters like Tawanchai that inspire you
5/10 if you're on a budget or prefer group training
